HEATHER TOLBERt

Co-Founder, Co-Executive Director, Coordinator of Clinicians of Color Movement (CCM) program

Heather is Co-Founder and Co-Executive Director of By Any Means AVL non-profit. She is also Co-Owner of From the Ashes Cultural Arts & Counseling.

Heather is a Certified Clinical Supervisor, Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist, Certified Anger Management Specialist II, DOT provider, and a NC DWI provider.  She received a Master of Science degree in Criminal Forensics from Florida Gulf Coast University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Christian Ministries from Emmanuel College.

Heather has an extensive background in sports, playing college softball, as well as volunteering with Fellowship of Christian Athletics (FCA).  Heather has a work background in youth that includes YMCA after school and summer programs; 3 years working in a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility with children and adolescents. Some community work that Heather has been involved in includes Southerners on New Ground (SONG) working with the Black Mama's Bail out Action; transitional homes, and other initiatives with the criminal justice field. Heather has been in the SUD/MH field for the past 10 years as a counselor in Medication-Assisted Treatment facilities and coordinating programs and running her own business that she runs with her sister.
